As you may already know, Governor Holcomb has laid out a plan for our state to open back up again. His full plan can be found at backontrack.in.gov. His plan has specifically given houses of worship the freedom to open up starting with the weekend of May 10th. There are guidelines and recommendations to follow with this new freedom that need to be honored out of respect for our authorities and the safety of our neighbor. The elders and I met on May 6th to discuss the future plans for St. Peter. We have a unique blend of challenges with being a smaller and older congregation that must be considered. After much conversation and prayer we have decided the following:

St. Peter will start worshiping again on May 24th

We will offer two services, 9am and 11am, to allow for social distancing

These offerings may change due to demand or lack thereof

Elders will be assigned to services for member assistance and safety measures

After each service the elders and pastor will clean and sanitize the sanctuary and bathrooms

Online services will continue at 11am, as usual, to accommodate those still at home

We will have a professional sanitize the building before our first worship on May 24th

All activities outside of worship are suspended until the state reaches stage 5 in July

Decisions on VBS, Rummage Sale, and Germanfest will be made at a later date.
